Which notes is that guitar solo playing?
Drop a recording. Lickfinder follows the pitch, lists every note with its time and how many cents it is off, and guesses where it sits on the fretboard. Then slow it down and loop the hard bit.
Free try: the first 30 seconds of any file and 2 exports. Nothing is uploaded.

mp3, wav, m4a · works best on a solo or isolated guitar
Heads-up: this follows one note at a time. On a full band mix the bass, drums and voice pull it off course, so trim to a stretch where the guitar is loudest, or use an isolated guitar track. Chords show as their strongest note.
Tap a note to hear it. Drag across the timeline to loop a range.

What it does, plainly
- Pitch timeline
- Every 12 ms it measures the main pitch and draws it on a piano-roll, over the waveform. Notes are coloured by the string it guesses.
- Note list
- Start time, note name with octave, cents sharp or flat of standard A440, length, and a string/fret guess. Slides, bends and hammer-ons show as a slur.
- Slow it down
- 50 to 100% speed without changing the pitch, with a loop around any range or note.
- Export
- The note list as CSV (opens in any spreadsheet) and a plain-text tab you can paste anywhere.
- Where it struggles
- Chords, heavy distortion over a full mix, and very fast runs. The fret guess is one playable option, not the one the player used.
- Your audio
- Stays on your device. The last file and its notes are kept in this browser so a reload does not lose them.
FAQ
- What does the £5.00 buy?
- One payment, not a subscription. It unlocks whole files of any length and any range, unlimited CSV and tab exports, and the full tab preview, in up to 3 browsers through “Already paid? Restore”.
- Where is my audio kept? What leaves my browser?
- Your audio never leaves your device: the notes are worked out in this browser and the last file is kept in this browser’s storage. Only the payment check talks to our server (Stripe handles the card), plus a simple page-view count with no personal data.
- Which browsers work?
- Recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and phone. Older browsers may not open m4a files; wav and mp3 work everywhere.
- Can I get a refund?
- You get access straight away, so the 14-day cancellation right ends once you start using it. If it does not work for your file, email business@thatched.ai and we will sort it out.
