      Honest limits

      Works on
      Chrome, Edge and Firefox on a desktop or laptop. Safari on a Mac records the screen but cannot share tab audio.
      Doesn’t work on
      Phones and tablets. Their browsers don’t offer screen capture to web pages, so no web recorder can do it there.
      Tab / system audio
      Chrome and Edge share sound from a tab (tick “Also share tab audio”), and from the whole screen on Windows and ChromeOS. Windows and Mac windows have no sound. Firefox shares no page sound. When sound isn’t offered we say so and keep your mic.
      File
      WebM (VP9 or VP8 video, Opus sound). Plays in Chrome, Firefox, VLC and most editors. MP4 appears in the format list only when your browser can record it natively.
      Length
      No cap. The file is built in memory, so very long takes need free RAM: roughly 20–60 MB per minute at 1080p.

      What does £5.00 buy?
      Keeptape Full in this browser, for good: unlimited recordings of any length, the webcam bubble, trimming and the saved library. One payment, no subscription. The first 3 recordings are free so you can check it works for you.
      Where do my recordings go?
      Nowhere. They are made and kept in this browser tab on your computer, and saved library takes stay in this browser’s storage. Video and sound never leave your computer. The page only sends an anonymous page-view count and, when you pay, the payment check to Stripe.
      Which browsers work?
      Chrome, Edge and Firefox on a desktop or laptop. Safari on a Mac records the screen without tab sound. Phones and tablets can’t record the screen from a web page.
      Can I get a refund?
      Access starts straight away, so the 14-day cancellation right ends once you use it. If it doesn’t work on your computer, email business@thatched.ai and we’ll sort it out.
