  1. Tap Copy the code.
  2. Bookmark this page, then edit the bookmark: name it Lampshade and paste the code over the address.

Per-site settings

Some sites need a softer touch. Save settings for a site and the bookmark uses them there; every other site gets your default. Saved in this browser only.

Dark reader for pasted text

Paste an article, an email or a chunk of HTML. It is shown in a calm dark page that you size to taste. Kept in this browser so it is still here tomorrow.

What it can't do (yet)

Lampshade, full version

The free try gives you 3 turns: each time you take the bookmark (drag or copy) or save a new site uses one, and the reader shows the first 5 paragraphs. A bookmark you have taken keeps working. The full version is £3.00, paid once.

  • Take and rebuild the bookmark as often as you like
  • Settings for as many sites as you like
  • The whole text in the dark reader, and restore from a backup file
  • One payment, no subscription, no account

FAQ

What does the £3.00 buy?
One payment unlocks the whole app in this browser (and up to 3 browsers with the restore button): take the bookmark as often as you like, settings for any number of sites, the whole text in the reader and restore from a backup file. No subscription.
Where is my data kept? What leaves the browser?
Your settings and pasted text stay in this browser's storage and are never uploaded. The bookmark runs only on the page you click it on and sends nothing anywhere. The only things that leave the browser: a page-view count, and, if you buy, a check with our payment server that Stripe got paid.
Which browsers work?
Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave and Safari on a computer, by dragging the button to the bookmarks bar. On phones you paste the code into a bookmark (steps above). Browser pages such as settings or the extension store never run bookmarks.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If it doesn't do what this page says, or you are not happy, email business@thatched.ai within 14 days of paying with the email on your Stripe receipt, and we refund the full amount.

Lampshade by THATCHED. Runs in your browser; nothing you paste or save leaves it.
